April 2012, O'Hara was released after serving 13-and-a-half years for the murder of his ex-girlfriend..
Monday 17th march 2014, businesswoman Cherylee Shennan, aged-40, contacted O'Hara's probation officers - and told them he had beaten her, broken her nose and fractured her jaw.
As police were at the door later that day, taking a statement, O'Hara barged into his new girlfriend's home with a claw-hammer, at first he attempted to strangle her, but she escaped into the street, where he caught up with her and knifed her to death - attacking the two police officers who stood in his way.
Tuesday 18th March 2014, Paul O’Hara, aged-41, of Honiton Close, Heywood, was l, charged with the murder of Cherylee Shennan.
He was also charged with section 18 wounding and assault with intent to resist arrest.He was remanded in custody to appear at Burnley Magistrates Court t
A post mortem examination, showed she died of multiple stab wounds.
