21st February 2009, Taylor Burrows' former boyfriend
Karl Oakley entered the family house in Enderby Road
Luton, getting a knife from the kitchen he went upstairs
and stabbed his former girlfriend.
Miss Burrows crumpled to
the floor and Oakley then continued stabbing her
repeatedly about the head, arms and body, stabbing her
more than 30 times, he then fled the scene leaving her to
die.
The previous day Oakley had
been seen by a community psychiatric nurse after his
mother had reported his behaviour. he was known to have
a personality disorder.
Thursday 12th March 2009,
Karl Oakley, of Trent road, Luton, was charged with the murder at Luton Crown Court.
Tuesday 1st
September
2009, Oakley found guilty of manslaughter, his plea
was changed from murder to manslaughter on the grounds
of diminished responsibility. Sentencing was deferred to
allow for psychiatric reports.
3rd
November 2009, He was sentenced to life
with a minimum term of 15 years.
