Ireneu also known as Neil, was
separated from his wife. Married in 1999, he left the family
home in Camberley in August 2002. Having previously been
accused of assaulting her, he was served with a
non-molestation order. And was ordered by the court not to
go with 500 yards of her home.
8th January 2003,
Paula - his estranged wife, was visiting with their son for
a contact visit, this was unusual, as they normally met in a
public place. when she arrived he Attacked her with a knife
inflicting 67 different stab wounds to her neck and upper
body. He then ripped the wedding ring from her finger, and
left the home in Woking, Surrey with his two-year-old son
Isaac.
I16th September 2003, He
pleaded guilty to manslaughter at the start of the trial,
but claimed that he had been provoked into killing his
wife. The jury did not accept this claim.
His Honour
Judge Stewart commented that the jury had heard
overwhelming evidence of murder. He described the attack
on Paula as, “merciless, ferocious and vicious. “ Injai
was sentenced to life imprisonment.
