Saturday 13th September 2008, Burke and
Kingonzila were friends but fell out over Kingonzila's
brother going out with Burkes sister.
Burke, of Stanton Road,
used a knife hidden in his shoe to stab 19 year old
Kingonzila outside the E bar in Croydon.
Kingonzila was a promising football player, was playing
with League two side Barnet at the time.
The footballer had started
to walk away from Burke but Burke taunted him
shouting "come on do something" Kingonzila punched him
in the face.
Doorman Paul Ujah saw blood on the victim and realised
Burke had been using a weapon during the fight.
Kingonzila bled to death after suffering nine stab
wounds.
Tuesday 21st April 2009,
Burke pleaded guilty to murder.
Monday 18th May 2009,
Burke sentenced to life imprisonment, with a
recommendation he serve a minimum 14 years.
