29th April 2006, Alfusaine JABBI, was found in a
car park in Leagrave, Luton, adjacent to the areas of
Marsh farm and Sundon park.
Discovered by a man cycling home from night shift at
6:07am.
Police said Mr Jabbi had been stabbed and beaten
to death and sustained severe injuries to his entire
body.
He had been living in the UK since 2003 and worked as a
spiritual healer called "Mr Wahib" - running his
business from a flat in Bury Park Road, in Luton.
7th March 2008,
Tariq Shaffi Malik, 29, of Selbourne Road, Luton and
Imran Khan, 27, of Rondini Avenue, Luton had been found
guilty of the murder of the 22-year-old Gambian.
11th March 2008, Tariq Shaffi Malik was sentenced
to a minimum of 22 years imprisonment for the murder of
Mr Jabbi, four years imprisonment for conspiracy to
unlawfully imprison, and a total of five years
imprisonment relating to two charges of perverting the
course of justice.
Imran Khan was sentenced to
a minimum of 20 years imprisonment for murder, four
years imprisonment for conspiracy to unlawfully imprison
and a total of six years, six months relating to two
charges of perverting the course of justice.
Khalid Malik, 28, of
Selbourne Road, Luton was found guilty of perverting the
course of justice by giving false information but was
cleared of murder, conspiracy to imprison and perverting
the course of justice.
Rubina Shah, 38, of Willow Way was found not guilty of
conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm but was found
guilty of conspiracy to imprison.
Guhar Mira, 26, of Selbourne Road was found guilty of
two charges of perverting the course of justice.
