1982, Given a life sentence for the
murder of 91-year-old Henry Walsh. Dawson stabbed Mr
Walsh up to twelve times with a bread knife. At the
trial Dawson admitted murder.
2010, Within weeks of being released
he killed again. Stabbing two men to death.
25th July 2010, 66-year-old John
Matthews who lived in the same block of flats as Dawson, was
found stabbed up to eighteen times, in the bath in his flat.
The bath had been filled with water and a large quantity of
bleach. Dawson later told police he had an urge to kill.
30th July 2010, Paul Hancock, also
found in the bath, in the same block of flats, was stabbed
to death 22 times.
Dawson fled after this murder.
later the same day, 30th July, Dawson was
arrested in Cumbria, the police having to taser him during
the arrest. Dawson was found with a large quantity of knives
on him.
Dawson told police he felt an 'urge to
kill' before he knocked on the men's doors in the block of
flats in Chaddesden, Derby, where they all lived, and
subsequently launching a frenzied assaults on them, leaving
the bodies in the bath.
18th July 2011, Dawson admitted two
counts of murder at Nottingham Crown Court.
In sentencing Dawson to a whole life term,
Mrs Justice Dobbs said "life will mean life", This
pots Dawson on the home office list of prisoners serving a
